DEI and Belonging
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Education
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Education has been my primary focus in the fields I have served in whether that is health and human services for refugee and immigrant families or advocacy within college student affairs. Education is a tool for learning and a tool for power, as demonstrated through curricular decisions, political censorship, and world history. Throughout my various roles and opportunities, I have researched and developed trainings and presentations on a variety of DEIB topics including but not limited to: intersectionality and identity development, allyship and activism, implicit bias in crisis response, Islamophobia and xenophobia, and engaging across difference.
